Here at Willow Wood, we understand the hole left in someone’s life after the death of someone who was living with dementia.
Caring for someone with dementia is all consuming and people tell us that their world often becomes smaller, so when that person dies, it can leave bereaved individuals feeling lonely and unsure of what to do next.
For those who have accessed the dementia services here at Willow Wood, we know how important the relationships built through the Dementia Cafe, our support groups and those with the team have become.
That’s why we are inviting those bereaved individuals to the Hospice for our ‘After Dementia Cafe’ – a one-off group which allows people to speak with both the dementia team and family support team about living with grief and what comes next after dementia, whilst also meeting others who have experienced similar situations to them.
The group will be an opportunity to chat, access information about grief and bereavement, find out what’s going on in the area, and learn about our bereavement offer at Willow Wood.
