This strategy will build on the progress made through Celebrating Our Past and Building Our Future (2023–2026), which recognised the years of compassionate care delivered by our teams, while responding to the significant changes in healthcare and society following the COVID-19 pandemic.

As we come towards the end of this period, we are incredibly proud of what we have achieved together. We have established a strong and responsive community team, strengthened our Inpatient Unit, developed our workforce and continued to learn from the people and families we support every day.

A key part of shaping our new strategy has been listening to colleagues across the organisation, as well as patients, families, volunteers and wider partners. Two key themes have emerged: providing more support for carers and continuing to develop care in the community, helping more people to receive care where they call home.

At the same time, we will ensure our Inpatient Unit remains fit for the future and able to support people with increasingly complex needs. Creating welcoming, accessible and sustainable facilities for patients and families is also an important part of the vision.

Nicola Cheetham, our Clinical Director, said: “Whilst we have gathered valuable insight already, this strategy belongs to all of us. As a community hospice, it is vital that our future is shaped by the people we serve. I would therefore love to hear from as many members of our community as possible.”
