How do I get a house clearance quote?

Getting a quote is simple and completely free. Visit our Clearance Outlet, call us on 0161 669 4849, or email furniture@willowwood.org.uk. We’ll ask for the property’s address and your contact details so we can arrange a convenient time to visit. We’ll then provide a free, no-obligation quotation tailored to your property and your individual requirements.

Is the quotation free?

Yes. We offer a free, no-obligation visit to assess the property and provide a personalised quotation.

Can you give me a price over the phone?

No. Every property is different, so we always visit first to provide an accurate, fair quotation that’s tailored to your needs.

How much does a house clearance cost?

House clearances are a paid service unique to each property. Your quotation includes labour, transport and disposal costs. Any surplus raised through the sale of donated items helps support Willow Wood Hospice.

What happens during the quotation visit?

A member of our team will walk through the property with you, discuss what you’d like to keep and what you’d like us to remove, and prepare a detailed quotation.

Do I need to be there on the day you clear the property?

No. You can meet us at the property, leave the keys in a lockbox, or drop them off at the Willow Wood Hospice Clearance Outlet and Donation Centre in Ashton-under-Lyne. We’ll return the keys as agreed and can send you photos by whatsapp once the work is complete.

What can you clear?

We can remove most household and commercial items, including furniture, white goods, clothing, electricals, bric-a-brac and garden furniture. We can’t remove fitted units or anything permanently connected to gas, electricity or water.

What happens on the day of the clearance?

Our uniformed team will arrive at the agreed time and clear everything included in your quotation. Depending on the size of the property, the work may take a few hours or longer.

What happens to the items you collect?

Where possible, we give items a second life by selling them in our charity shops. Anything unsuitable for resale is recycled or disposed of responsibly. If we discover anything valuable or personal, we’ll always contact you.

How soon can you carry out a clearance?

We can usually book your clearance within 5–10 days of you accepting the quotation. If you’re working to a deadline, let us know and we’ll do our best to help.

Do you only clear houses?

No. We can clear houses, flats, garages, offices, shops and other commercial premises.

Can you clear flats?

Yes, in most cases. If above ground floor there will need to be a lift. We’ll assess access during the quotation visit. If there are stairs or lift restrictions, we may ask to see a few photos first.

Can you clear a property that’s in probate?

Yes. We regularly work with families and solicitors handling probate. We can provide a detailed quotation and invoice once payment has cleared.

How do I pay?

You can pay in store at The Clearance Outlet on Langham Street, Ashton, OL7 9AX, or by bank transfer. Once payment has been received, we’ll confirm your clearance date.
