Volunteer Vacancies

Volunteers give us the gift of their time and make a positive impact on our community at Willow Wood Hospice.

Below are the current opportunities available where you could make a difference…

Please note: you must be 18 years old or older to volunteer at the Hospice, or 16 years old or older to volunteer at our charity shops.

COMMUNITY SERVICES

Be Active group facilitator – our Wellbeing team is looking for volunteers who can facilitate regular sessions of Tai Chi, yoga, and low-level gentle exercises as part of the popular Be Active group, which promotes patients’ mobility, wellbeing and the importance of keeping active.

FUNDRAISING

Can collectors – in Glossop, Ashton-under-Lyne and Droylsden
Coffee Morning assistant – helping to set up on the first Friday of every month from 4.30pm to 6pm (involves some heavy lifting)
Distributing leaflets and posters – around Tameside and Glossop, on an ad-hoc basis
Mascot – wearing our Woody the bear costume at fundraising events
Stalls – helping sell Willow Wood merchandise, running a tombola and games, or giving out leaflets

RETAIL

Helping in any of our charity shops (Glossop, Hyde, Clearance Outlet, Ashton-under-Lyne, Stalybridge, Purchase and Donate shop, Reddish Lane, Waterloo) – Click here for more information about the role
Driver’s Mates at our Clearance Outlet and Donation Centre in Ashton-under-Lyne – several days available
Helping our eBay team at our Clearance Outlet and Donation Centre in Ashton-under-Lyne to sort through items to sell and general admin work – Mondays to Wednesdays from 9am to 4pm
