Our Foundations of End-of-Life Care course is a two-day course which is designed for health professionals working in any healthcare setting.

It offers a practical toolkit to help you feel more confident and prepared when supporting someone approaching the end of life.

You’ll learn what to do, what to say, and how to provide high-quality, compassionate care during one of life’s most challenging times.

Gain the skills and confidence to provide excellent end-of-life care.

Training is delivered by experienced staff from Willow Wood Hospice, alongside expert guest speakers.

You’ll also have the optional opportunity to visit a crematorium at the end of the second day, offering valuable insight into what happens after death.

This course will empower you with the knowledge and confidence to support patients and families with dignity and compassion at the end of life.

Held in The Hub at Willow Wood Hospice, it will run from 9.30am to 4.30pm (registration from 9am) on Tuesday 6th and Wednesday 7th October 2026.

The course covers key topics such as:

• Symptom management
• Care after death
• Oral care
• Organ donation
• Legal considerations

The cost of the course is £180 per person, which includes a buffet-style lunch and light refreshments across both days.

• A booking will not be confirmed until full payment has been received.
• An invoice can be issued upon request.
• Payment must be received no later than 4 weeks before the training date to secure    places.
• Places may be offered to others if payment is not received within the specified payment period.
• Cancellations received more than 14 days before the training date will receive a full refund or transfer to another course date.
• Cancellations received within 14 days of the training date are non-refundable.
• Substitute delegates may attend at any time with prior notice.
